Buckthorn, Alder (Rhamnus frangula)

Alder Buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula) is a large, deciduous native shrub or small tree, Alder Buckthorn produces red berries in the spring that mature and darken in autumn, contrasting well with its lovely yellow autumn foliage. It makes an excellent host for butterflies.
