| Hybrid Tea Roses
|
| |
| Hybrid teas are the most popular roses grown today with the largest flowers in the rose world, which can be 12cm (5”) across. Their hallmark is the long, pointed bud that opens like an unfurling umbrella to produce what is usually a single flower at the end of a stem (unlike the floribunda’s clusters). These are the original “Rose on a Stick” and so they make great cut flowers. Hybrid Teas grow to between 3-7 feet tall, (depending on type) and they are well suited for individual or group planting (at 60cms apart) as well as for mass bedding. In shape they are open as opposed to bushy and virtually all are scented and flower repeatedly from June to October. |
