Dogwood, Yellow (Cornus stolonifera flaviramea)

This Yellow Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera flaviramea) variety with its bright yellow winter bark is a very effective shrub when mixed with other Dogwoods. Any soil is suitable, especially if it is damp soil. Cut back very hard in spring for stem colour.

The name Dogwood comes from the Saxon Dagwood or "skewer-wood". The stems are very straight, can be sharpened easily and are ideal for home made BBQ's.
