Rose, Scotch (Rosa pimpinellifolia)

The Scotch Rose (Rosa pimpinellifolia) is a very thorny rose that makes an excellent dense thicket. It bears heavily scented white/pink flowers and maroon/black fruit. Always useful in a mixed hedge or as a low hedge on its own, especially on banks where it handles dry soil and drying winds better than most roses.
