Lawson's Cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana) is a large evergreen tree that makes an excellent screen or windbreak, Lawson's Cypress can also be grown as a hedge. The slightly drooping foliage is much darker than that of leylandii and is easier to clip. Lawson's cypress grows well in windy areas, and is shade tolerant.
