Larch, Japanese (Larix leptolepis)
Japanese Larch is a fast growing large tree with striking reddish shoots that are particularly evident in the winter. The needles are sea green in spring, and turn gold in the autumn, before dropping in winter, providing a source of nutrition for other plants growing nearby. A useful nurse tree, Japanese larch is better in windy sites than the Hybrid or European Larch. To 30m
