Egremont Russet - Eating Apple
Egremont Russet is medium sized.... russet
apple, with an distinctive nutty flavour. The tree is extremely
hardy, quite vigorous and a steady and reliable cropper. Egremont
Russet is an early flowering pollinator and is also self-fertile.
It will therefore produce some fruit if planted by itself, but
will yield more in the company of a pollinating partner.
To find the cross-pollination partner of your choice for Egremont
Russet, please take a look at our Guide
to Fruit Pollination for more information on apple and fruit
pollination. Delicious fresh, but these russets will also keep well.

Egremont Russet needs a planting hole 1m wide and 40cms deep. If necessary, the soil may be enriched with a little well rotted manure or manure. Stake the tree with a 50mm (2") diameter tree stake, and secure it with a buckle and strap tree tie within 60 cms of the ground. Weeds and grass should be kept away from the trunk by spraying, weeding or using a mulch mat. For more information, take a look at our Tree Planting Guide.
